I really appreciate a good quote. There’s something so stimulating about reading your deepest desires or struggles articulated by another human being, often one whom you’ve never even met. I find a lot of inspiration and peace in reading quotes. Sometimes I am led to a deeper part of myself through them.
Here are several of my favorite quotes. There are so many more from philosophers, theologans, and humanitarians whom I adore, but this is my most condensed list. What are some of your favorite quotes? Feel free to leave them in a comment below.

Enjoyment is becoming idolatrous when its loss paralyzes us emotionally so that we can’t relate lovingly to other people. This is the horizontal effect of losing confidence in God.
John Piper
When someone we love dearly dies, it leaves an emptiness that nothing fills. Perhaps, our continuing love of them means, in part, not ever trying to fill that emptiness with anything else. The cost of such love requires acceptance of that emptiness as part of the fabric of our being. Sometimes, with eyes wide open, we find ourselves sitting in that emptiness. At such times, love and the ache of grief become indistinguishable.
Carmichael Peters
It isn’t the load that breaks us down, but the way we carry it
