I finally mastered how to make a delicious hummus! I’ve tried before and just couldn’t get the proportions quite right. I made a smaller portion last night- it was very good, but didn’t achieve “deliciousness.” Nonetheless, it was gone within 24 hrs. Tomorrow I get to bring snacks for the teachers at my school, so I decided to make a larger portion and tweak my proportions… I think I’ve achieved it (and my husband approves, too!!)!
Hummus
3 cans chickpeas or garbanzo beans
1/4 c water
5 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
4 Tbsp Tahini (or sesame seeds)
5 cloves garlic, crushed
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 Tbsp olive oil
2 tsp cumin
~garnish with chickpeas and/or paprika
Throw all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor. I blend mine until it is smooth and creamy.
If you find that the texture is too thick, add more water by the Tbsp until you reach your desired texture.
Enjoy!
