Monkey Business Trail Mix

I haven’t shared a recipe for trail mix before, because I never really put much thought into making it. I usually just throw in what I have in the cupboards and it always comes out tasting delish. I decided to share this one though, because the combination is just too tasty not to.

Peanuts and chocolate is scrumptious, but peanuts and chocolate with bananas and coconut is better! We enjoy this mix with unsalted ingredients, and it’s tasty as ever.

You can enjoy this mix as a snack on a hike or as a side with your lunch. I would recommend tossing it in a salad, but I have yet to enjoy chocolate and lettuce… who knows, maybe it’s a good combination after all. You can experiment and let me know how it goes 😉

I used freeze dried banana chips, which are very flavorful. They taste like an actual fresh banana, since they aren’t fried in any oil like traditional banana chips are. Beware that the freeze dried banana chips will become slightly less crunchy once they are stored with the other ingredients. Still very good, but after a few days the banana chips aren’t quite as crunchy as on the first day.

DISCLAIMER: Trail mix is highly addictive. Subject may find him/herself finishing the mix before transporting it into a jar.

Monkey Business Trail Mix
2 c. Peanuts (I use roasted, unsalted)
1/2 c. Chocolate Chips
1.5 c. Dried Banana Chips (I used freeze dried, unsalted)
1 c. Coconut Flakes

Directions:
Mix ingredients together in a bowl.
Transport to an airtight container.
