Christmas time is here.
Happiness and cheer…
This Christmas I’ve decided to make some ornaments. My first attempt was with these fabulous sequin-covered balls. I love the way they look and glimmer on the tree.
I will be completely honest in saying that this is not a quick craft. It takes a good 3 hours to pin the entire ornament, especially if you are using small sequins and multiple colors (and are being careful to alternate the colors). My husband and I watched a movie, The King’s Speech, while I got started. It was a bit difficult to do this in dim light and while partially watching a film, so it took another hour to finish the next day. It was well worth it though.
Pin the ribbon on and cover the extra ribbon with sequins to secure its hold.
A nice blessing that my wonderful friend Roxy gave us. It’s right next to our tree. |
Sequin Ornament
Materials:
Styrofoam ball (3″ size)
Sequins (one size or multiple sizes)
Ribbon
Satin Pins (sewing pins with flat head)
How to:
Start by pinning one sequin onto the ball. Next, individually pin sequins to layer over the edge of the previous sequin, making sure to cover any exposed Styrofoam. Add the ribbon before finishing and continue pinning sequins until the ball is completely covered.
