This is the first smoothie recipe I’ve published that does not use bananas! Weee! So, all you non-banana eaters out there can celebrate. But, for all fellow banana lovers, I will be honest… (don’t tell!)… I added two bananas to mine! What!? I can’t help it! Bananas are just so creamy and deliciously sweet. It was beyond my control!!
Okay, but for reals. This recipe does not require bananas, so rest assured, you can make it without (but you’re missing out imho). 😉
Feel free to adjust the amount of lemon juice, especially if you don’t add banana, as it gives this smoothie a nice tang. Hope you enjoy!
Green Citrus Smoothie
1 c. Orange Juice (about 4 oranges)
1 c. chopped Pineapple
Juice of 1 small Lemon (about 2 Tbsp)
Large bunch of Spinach (~3 oz)
1-3 leaves Kale (leave off stem)
1 c. Water or coconut water
Ice
*optional: add 1-3 ripe bananas
Directions
Add ingredients to a high-powered blender. I use my Vitamix Blender!
Blend on high until completely pureed.
