This shake is rich and delightfully creamy with crisp fall flavors. It reminds me of a creamy pumpkin pie! It is just what my body was craving after my afternoon run.
Speaking of running, I haven’t posted much about running lately because, to be completely honest, there hasn’t been much running going on over here. By the end of June (5 months ago) I had reached 69 miles. I was well ahead of my goal of reaching 100 miles by the end of the year and looking forward to surpassing it by the end of the summer with all the free time I would have. I imagined doing races every weekend– 5k and 10k races… maybe even a half marathon. Well, I began a full-time master’s program in education in July. I took 16 units from July-September and I was barely keeping my head above water with all of the reading and work I had. Going back to school is tough when you’ve been out of the groove for a few years. Needless to say, I did not run very much. I got in a whopping 1 (ONE!) mile in July, 4 miles in August, and 2 miles in September. I was running that many miles in a week back in the Spring! Well, so, the weeks have caught up to me and I’m right about where I would’ve been had I stuck to only running 2 miles per week. Erg. I’ll be happy to get in 100 miles by January 1st 2014. I’m getting out to run every weekend, since I truly do not have the time to run during the week. Consistency is key, and boy do I feel it after being out for a few months!
Today I got in 3 miles and it felt great. Read more about my 100 miles challenge here.
