It’s DAY 4 on the juice cleanse (see first post here), so I thought I’d give an update. Each day has gotten easier and more enjoyable, and I’m feeling great! A couple of my family members are juicing all month long, so doing it for only a week seems pretty reasonable in comparison.
Here’s a little recap of my cleanse so far and what I’ve learned:
DAY 1: Miserable. I started the day with a 5k run with hills and didn’t have much time to each beforehand, so I ended up guzzling down some juice from only 1 orange (one. orange…waaay too few calories!). Had a moderate-sized juice for lunch, but by that time I was feeling tired, dizzy, and ultra grouchy! I stopped by Mother’s Market to stock up on organic produce, and treated myself to a 32 oz goddess of greens juice. I was still a bit fatigued and hungry that evening, so I ended up making one more smaller juice which did the trick.
DAY 2: I woke up feeling great! Made a breakfast juice and my lunch juice ahead of time since I was going to be out. It was a good day. Toward the evening, I found that I was feeling pretty hungry. I realized that my morning juice wasn’t enough, and it caught up to me by mid-afternoon. I made sure to have a big juice that evening.
DAY 3: I felt really good. I slept like a baby the night before, and I was a bit groggy getting up. I drank a Strawberry-Orange Lemonade and took a quick jog before heading out for the day. I made all of my juice for day in the morning. I think that was a smart move. I felt good.
